3 Steps to Better Virtualization Performance Monitoring

By Phil Nguyen, HP Software Community Director

Virtualized infrastructures have proliferated in enterprise IT environments to the point that monitoring so many servers, storage and network infrastructures now requires specialized expertise and tools.

It’s no simple task. Virtualization administrators and Virtualization Subject Matter Experts (vSMEs) often end up spending most of their time troubleshooting, and struggling to get a complete picture of capacity issues or wastage.

HP’s new Virtualization Performance Viewer addresses these challenges with real-time diagnostics and triage tools that let you quickly visualize data from a single console and diagnose performance issues.

Sudhindra Kumar TL, an expert in Operations and Performance Management with HP Software, has posted in our IT Experts Community an informative guide to using HP vPV, including:

1. Troubleshooting with Treemaps

2. Performing triage analysis with Workbench

3. Reporting performance trends

Check out this detailed blog post, post a comment about how you think it can help your organization, and be sure to share with your colleagues working in virtualization. The post includes links to access a trial of the software and download a data-sheet.
