Managing Performance in Virtualized and Cloud Environments

Posted By Ken Spear, Saturday, September 21, 2013

Virtualization, cloud and software defined networks and storage create greater complexity. This makes it more difficult to isolate and troubleshoot performance problems. Infrastructure performance measurement has to measure latency between each real and virtualized component. The metrics collected must be real time, continuous and comprehensive. That's because identifying the root cause of performance problems requires detailed analysis. This includes the ability to understand all of the relationships related to dynamic infrastructure components in virtualized and cloud environments. HP is offering a new technical white paper that explains some of the new concepts and challenges and provides practical recommendations. The paper also explores some of the myths that that have emerged about virtualization and its relationship to and impact on performance and debugs them with reality.

We're trying to make your job easier, so HP is also offering a free tool to help you manage infrastructure performance. The tool is called Virtualization Performance Viewer or vPV. It helps you easily troubleshoot performance issues in both virtualized and cloud environments.

You can learn more about vPV, watch videos and download this free tool by going to:§ionid=alm_ito>.
