As you may have seen in the last few months, Hewlett Packard Enterprise is combining some software assets with Micro Focus. As part of this spin-merge with Micro Focus, a new Software instance of an online community will go live on May 16, 2017.

All boards within the current Software category will be located to a new community. All URLs will redirect to the new community. All current users will be migrated to the new community as well. Please be sure to update your bookmarks after May 16.

As part of the migration to a new Software instance, all software content will be in read-only mode from May 9 – 15. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Not able to open CAE clientOpen in a New Window

Hi all,

In my machine CAE agent is installed. There are some list of bundled softwares available in CAE.

When I try opening the CAE client in my machine I am getting the below error and it is getting closed.

Vesrion Installed: 8.10

Please suggest how to rectify this problem. Thanks.



Reset Management portal user passwordOpen in a New Window

Hi Expert, 


Urgent help needed , I forgotten Admin user name password so I am not able to login on console.

Please help me to restoring the password ..


I already gone through this below process..

Steps to be follow in order to reset the password :

  1. Stop the Management Portal Service.
  2. Use the command prompt to navigate to the Management Portal folder and run:
    nvdkit httpd.tkd   -debug 1
  3. Wait for the % sign to appear.
  4. Assuming the zone name is 'hp' and the new password we intend to set is 'secret' (the existing zone name and the desired new password have to be entered in the command line below ), copy and paste the following command and press 'Enter':

    $::rmp::handle modify uid=admin,cn=user,cn=hp,cn=radia mod: userpassword secret
  5. Wait for the % sign to appear.
  6. Type 'exit' and press 'Enter .'
  7. Start the Management Portal.
  8. The new password can now be used to login into the Management Portal.


But in Step 2:-- there is no such file nvdkit , so I am not able to proceed further.


CAS Server version – 7.90.010 .


Urgent response needed on this.. thank in advance.





httpd.exe process utilizing high CPUOpen in a New Window

Hi Expert,


We are using CAS 7.9 on windows platform , from last few days httpd.exe is utilizing high CPU (99%) because of that we are not able to access the application, even there are no any job schedule. 


Server details:- 


OS- 2k3 enterprise 

CPU- 3GHz (4CPU)

Memory- 8GB

 Free Space in installation drive - 15 GB


We are managing 1000 device through CAS for patching and inventory process.


Kindly suggest me to resolve  the same.

How To Automate CIRA Timeout Value In Replicated Setup?Open in a New Window

We run a script to automate BIOS setup which uses BiosConfigUtility64.exe with a replicated setup text file.

Lately, a grey screen pops up asking is to enter the CIRA timeout value manually.  It says the default is 60, we we enter 60 and then a black screen with text screen appears asking us to press enter again to continue.  Then in completes the rest on it's own and continues with the OS deployment.


This CIRA timeout prompt screen prevents our deployment from being fully automated since someone needs to manually enter the CIRA timeout value or the deployment will not continue.


Is there a value we can enter in our setconfig text file for replicated setup that will handle this value for us so it doesn't prompt for manual entry?  I don't see a reference to CIRA timeout in the config file.

I am using CAS 7.9.

I am getting the following error while deploying the patches to any device

"failed to notify remote device-Reason one or more commands ended in error"

If i deploy software to same device it is getting deployed .


Please help me to get it reslove this issue .

biosconfigutility syntax with multiple current passwords?Open in a New Window

All of our computers do nothave the same bios passwords.  Some have the password set and some still have no password because they are new systems out of the box or just never had the password set for whatever reason.

Is there some way to do replicated setup in an automated way and have it try multiple current passwords and not assume that the password is always blank or assume that the password is always not blank and then fail otherwise?

For instance, if the password has already been set, continue using that password to do the replicated setup and if the password is blank then change it to the current password and then do the replicated setup?


Patch Not getting downloadedOpen in a New Window



We are using CAS 7.9, while we are doing patch aquistion we are getting following error...

We are using CAS 7.9,  we have two domain inside our company architecture , we need to deploy CAS agent on different domain nodes, we tried  but It is not getting deployed ,

We are using CAS 7.90, If we are doing Software /Hardware Audit Poling on nodes we are getting partial inventory details only, and if i am checking the job which i have initiated for the same there i found Hibernation job on some node what would be the reason for the same. and please let me know why we are not getting all Hardware inventory poling on that node there Inventory poling did successfully.

we are using CAS 7.9 in our domain , I need to export Physical Disk size Inventory report from CAS reporting tab, but there in Hardware Inventory if I am going inside the  details category report  --I am not able  to see   any option to export  physical disk size report.


Please help me out on this.

I am unable to do a Windows Remote Desktop control for one of my client machines using client automation. Remote desktop is enabled in the client machine,no error messages displayed in the HPCA portal but cannot connect to the machine I wanted remote control with?
