Hewlett Packard Enterprise event in April to equip government IT professionals

At the Hilton Washington, Wednesday, April 13, 2016, government IT professionals will come together for the 6th-annual Hewlett Packard Enterprise Government Summit. The event represents a unique opportunity for participants to learn better insights and smarter tactics that can help them succeed.

Government organizations recognize that adopting Cloud, bolstering security, harnessing Big Data and delivering mobile services are essential to modern service delivery. Accordingly, Hewlett Packard Enterprise is focusing efforts to help government entities transform to a hybrid infrastructure, protect the digital enterprise, empower the data-driven enterprise and enable workplace productivity. The April 13 gathering will provide opportunities to learn, connect and grow in these areas.

Rich lineup of keynote speakers

As the morning keynote, Dr. Madeleine K. Albright, America's first female U.S. Secretary of State, will draw upon her extensive experience in public service and her ongoing work in the private sector to offer the audience a unique and up-to-the-minute perspective on the issues confronting the United States and the world. Dr. Albright’s presentations are renowned for their powerful insights, fascinating stories and skillful analysis.

Speakers will also include Michael Durant, Retired Chief Warrant Officer Four, United States Army. Durant was the pilot of Black Hawk helicopter Super Six Four that was fired upon and subsequently brought down during a combat operation in Mogadishu, Somalia on October 3, 1993.

Attendees will also hear from Lewis Carr, Senior Director, World-wide Software Marketing, HPE. Lewis has been with HP Software two years covering various strategic software initiatives including vertical industry and key horizontal solution development areas.

Powerful reasons to attend

The April 13 agenda provides opportunities to learn best practices from government leaders and HPE executives. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with over 750 government executives, including top C-level professionals from agencies like the FBI, DHS, GSA and more. Attendees will be able to explore HPE's portfolio of leading security solutions, and take advantage of complimentary access to the event for all government employees and systems integrators.

Valuable agenda

Attendees will be able to choose from among multiple tracks that include

Transform: By accelerating federal datacenter consolidation and cloud initiatives, organizations can improve shared and domain-specific services, while reducing risk and cost across on-premise, private and public cloud.

Protect: In order to secure constituent and employee assets and operations, organizations must accelerate their ability to assess risks, while continuously monitoring, diagnosing and remediating user interactions, apps and data.

Empower: To leverage traditional data and Big Data, organizations need to simultaneously test programs and ideas, and then convert emerging value into enterprise-grade deployments that integrate with employee workflows and deliver services to constituents.

Enable: Organizations can accelerate the experience revolution for employees and constituents by securely delivering an integrated mobile app portfolio to distributed campus environments, teleworkers and external constituents on any device – BYOD or government-furnished equipment.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise supports Wounded Warriors, strengthens cyber defense

The Wounded Warrior Cyber Combat Academy*, a.k.a. W2CCA, is building the next generation of cyber defenders.

W2CCA's approach is novel and invaluable. Their "students" are military service members who have suffered a serious life-altering injury, either in combat or non-combat situations. These people are dedicated, highly motivated, disciplined and trustworthy team players sought by both industry and government. Once trained, they protect and defend the nation's information systems.

The W2CCA program is administered by the Federal IT Security Institute (FITSI) on behalf of the Federal IT Security Institute Foundation – both non-profit organizations working with industry partners to support this worthwhile initiative.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Software along with Jim Wiggins, Executive Director of FITSI, will be honored to support the W2CCA at the 2016 HPE Government Summit at the Washington Hilton on April 13.

Please stop by the W2CCA table located just outside the HPE/Partner Exhibit Hall. Receive a T-shirt and enter a raffle for a chance to win an HP laptop and HP printer. All donations from this event will go toward retraining Wounded Warriors to become cyber defenders.
