Posted By Administration, Thursday, March 5, 2015
Updated: Wednesday, March 4, 2015
Elections are now open for the selection of three Directors on the Vivit Board. Eligible voters are defined as all active members and who are not employed by HP. Elections will run until Friday, May 1, 2015, or until we meet our 10% member quorum. We urge you to vote now! Member sign-in required. Please sign in using your username and password. If you forgot your password, you may use the automated password reset. We have some great candidates and we appreciate your support in this election process.

Additionally, Vivit members are being asked to vote on a proposed change to the Vivit by-laws. The details of these proposed changes can be found at the bottom of the voting page, below the Board of Directors voting section.

Your vote on both the Directors elections and the proposed by-laws changes is important, so please take the time to cast your vote!

2014 Board Election Results

Posted By Richard Bishop, Thursday, May 8, 2014
Updated: Tuesday, May 6, 2014

Richard Bishop, Director, Nominations Chair, UK User Group Leader

I’d like to take a moment to thank those of you who took the time to vote in our recent election. As most of you know, Vivit has a Board of Directors that consists of nine directors who manage our staff of four and provide leadership and direction to our Local User Group and Special Interest Group leaders throughout the world. Each year, Vivit holds
staggered elections to elect three of the nine board members.

I would like to reassure our members that Vivit makes every attempt possible to be a non-intrusive organization and keep the number of emails that we send to a minimum. We are conscious that in our attempts to drive up voter numbers, at this time of year we send a large number of emails to members regarding the elections. This year we managed to reduce some of these emails by not emailing those who are ineligible to vote (i.e. HP employees) and not sending "please vote” emails from our automated mailing system to people who had already voted. Local User Group and Special Interest Group leaders also sent their own emails that may have contributed to "email overload”.

I’m pleased to say that this year, we have managed to conclude our election process more quickly and with more members voting than ever before. Despite this success, we are working to streamline the voting process for future years and reduce the number of unwanted election emails. We need to ensure that our desire for a streamlined voting process doesn’t reduce the board’s electoral accountability. We’d appreciate feedback from members on how we can do this and I’d be happy to hear from members who’d like to contribute to this discussion.

I’d like to thank the other board candidates who although they were not elected to the board this year, they were exceedingly strong candidates who volunteer their time as Local User Group or Special Interest Group leaders. We feel proud to have them as leaders within our organization and hope that they’ll consider standing for election in future years.

Board of Directors election results

Posted By Christopher J. Schärer: Director (Vice President & Nominations Chair), Iowa, Nebraska Chapters & Tes, Thursday, May 30, 2013

I’d like to take a moment to thank those of you who took the time to vote in our recent election. As you may or may not know, Vivit has a Board of Directors that consists of nine directors and a staff of four. Each year, Vivit has what is called staggered elections. What this means for Vivit is that each year, three board members are up for re-election. This year, we had one board member step down due to a decrease in the amount of volunteer time he had to provide to the board, so Vivit had a board position to fill for a one year term.

Vivit as a whole would like to let our members know that Vivit makes every attempt possible to be a non-intrusive organization and keep e-mails to a limit. The Vivit board members especially understand the importance of this because they as volunteers with full-time day jobs get e-mails regarding work, their personal lives, and their Vivit volunteer activities. With that said, I would like to say that the board has included an agenda item for the Vivit board of directors’ face-to-face meeting at the HP Discover conference to determine the best way to get the election process started sooner, finished sooner, and make it less intrusive on the organization members as a whole. I would like to personally thank you for your patience with the election process this year.

While writing this article/blog, I couldn’t help but notice something that I thought was a big step forward for Vivit. The Vivit board of directors and board candidates were comprised of representation from six different countries. Just two years ago the entire board consisted of volunteers from the United States alone. Last year the board welcomed Richard Bishop (United Kingdom) and Martijn Stuiver (Netherlands). This year again, there were new candidates from the Netherlands as well as Finland and Sweden. Vivit has also hired an additional Global Chapter Liaison in the EMEA region to assist with chapter efforts. This in itself proves that Vivit is definitely a global organization and is growing on a global scale.

With that said, I’d like to welcome the four new Vivit board members.

Vivit Elected Board Members

David Broerman

Chapter Leader (Florida)

Checkpoint Technologies

Director of Support

Christian Gerdes

Chapter Leader (Sweden)

Lights In Line AB

Managing Director Performance Engineering

Mark Herbert

Chapter Leader (Arizona)

Dignity Health

Technical Lead, Quality Center Tools Support, Training, Development and Administration

Tammy Young

American Safety Insurance

VP Application Development; App Development, Support and
Delivery, PMO, Testing, and Corporate Training

I’d like to thank the other board candidates who although they were not elected to the board this year, they volunteer their time as chapter leaders and are appreciated just the same. I’d also like to point out that their support as leaders in the Vivit community and eco-system is every bit as important to the organization and Vivit is lucky to have them as volunteers.

Additional Vivit Board Candidates

Mark Ford

Chapter Leader (Carolinas previously Iowa)

Process Management Analyst

Olli Laiho

SIG Leader (Testing, Quality, Application Lifecycle Management SIG)

Marketing Lead, Solutions Architect

Brian Pohl

Chapter Leader (Texas - San Antonio)

Technical Architect

I’d also like to take a moment to recognize the four departing board members and thank them for their contributions. Without volunteers like Vivit board members, Chapter/Special Interest Group (SIG) leaders and staff, Vivit would not be able to provide the value that it has for over 20 years now.

Trizetto Provider Solutions

Martijn Stuiver
