Updated: Tuesday, August 4, 2020

Yet consider the following about COBOL: 1) It powers about 80% of in-person financial services transactions and 95% of ATM swipes. 2) On a daily basis, it processes $3 trillion in commerce. 3) There are over 220 billion lines of code and 1.5 billion are written each year. Dead? Far from it. Read more here.

Micro Focus: A Leader in Data Security Portfolio Solutions

Posted By Sandra Herber, Thursday, August 6, 2020
Updated: Wednesday, August 5, 2020
Don’t take our word for it, read Forrester’s latest report on Data Security Portfolio Vendors, The Forrester Wave™: Data Security Portfolio Vendors, Q2 2019. In an evaluation of the 13 most significant data security portfolio software vendors, Micro Focus received the highest score possible (five out of five) in the Discovery criteria and was the only vendor to do so. We also received the highest score possible in the Obfuscation criteria, which looked at what types of encryption are available and how keys are managed. We credit this to our patented Voltage SecureData Format-Preserving Encryption capabilities and the ability of Structured Data Manager to transform and dynamically mask any structured data. We achieved this high score even without the report taking into consideration our new Voltage SmartCipher offering, which brings obfuscation functionality to unstructured data and endpoint. The ability to encrypt all data types is a strength that’s only available from a portfolio vendor such as Micro Focus. Read the report.
