The Best of TechBeacon

Posted By Rob Mitchell, Thursday, February 28, 2019

In the best of TechBeacon this month, experts share why DevOps along won’t get you through a digital transformation, how to build a team of security champions across the enterprise, pick the best agile and lean conferences of 2019 and more.

Why DevOps is not enough

DevOps alone won't get you safely through a digital transformation, but the right combination of lean, agile, DevOps, and leadership will. SAFe fellow Richard Knaster explains how to get the mix right.

You need security champions: 6 steps to get with the program

Culture change is the biggest obstacle to pulling together a successful application security program. Micro Focus technology evangelist Bret Jenkins shares how to create security champions in your organization who will act as the voice of security in every product group and non-security team.

How containers, microservices can help maintain your legacy

Use advanced cloud application development-enabling technologies such as containers, microservices, and serverless can make your legacy systems look and act modern.  Deloitte Consulting Chief Cloud Strategy officer David Linthicum shares how these make legacy tech easier to deal with.

The best agile and lean development conferences of 2019

Get up to speed and swap stories with your peers at these industry-leading events for agile and lean developers and IT pros.

Agile leaders: Stop demanding consistency from your teams!

Don't be fooled into thinking that every team needs to practice agile in exactly the same way, warns Anthony Crain. When you tell high performing teams to change agile their practices and conform to a standard agile approach, you are telling them to slow down. Here’s what you should focus on instead.

Live Webinar March 27th: Ensure Privacy Protection Through Your Digital Transformation

Posted By Majken Pullin, Thursday, February 28, 2019

Privacy represents a major challenge for the modern enterprise. The flexibility of hybrid IT and insights of data analytics are essential to business. But the digital transformation that is key to business success and competitive advantage is also a major vulnerability when it comes to data privacy.

Organizations are rightfully concerned about CCPA, GDPR, PIPEDA, and the growing number of regulations now being enacted means they need to figure out how to reduce their risk. But current privacy protection approaches fall short. What’s needed is a unified technology framework that lets you take a holistic, analytics-driven approach to securing what matters most—a framework flexible enough to meet the needs of your enterprise, but specific enough to offer a guide to risk reduction.

Join us for this webinar to learn about:

  • The attributes of a flexible, unified framework to address disparate regulations
  • Five critical technology capabilities to enable compliance
  • Data discovery and classification to manage risk
  • Governing identity privileges, access, and stores

Trends in Cloud Data Security: The Data Perimeter of Hybrid Clouds

Posted By Majken Pullin, Thursday, February 28, 2019

Significant amounts of sensitive data are shifting to public clouds ahead of organizational readiness to secure it. The broad adoption of public cloud services and knowledge worker mobility have created the need to secure data assets both within and outside of the network perimeter in an increasingly hybrid cloud world. The drive toward cloud adoption is thus accelerating risks of data breach, data loss, and non-compliance with data privacy regulations. To get more insight into these trends, ESG surveyed 392 IT and cybersecurity professionals responsible for evaluating and purchasing hybrid cloud security technology products and services.
